Almost every smartphone makers never failed to introduce a new color variant for their phones after a few months of its release. The Samsung GALAXY Grand 2 that we have over here is a high class Gold color model, which is announced by Samsung a couple of weeks back, this is a mid-range smartphone targeted at consumers who wants a huge and high quality display while not compromising in some other features like battery life, camera and everyday performance.

The successor to the original GALAXY Grand has certainly improved in terms of design language and hardware internals, the Grand 2 now features a faux leather back cover just like the company’s flagship GALAXY Note 3, revamped specs sheet such as a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU, 1.5GB of RAM, 5.25” TFT LCD display at 720p resolution, 8 Megapixel main camera and a 2600mAh battery while maintaining the same dual SIM feature and HSPA+ 21 Mbps support like its predecessor.
While Samsung has released a gold color accent for its GALAXY Note 3 smartphone previously, the GALAXY Grand 2 still isn’t fully coated in gold color. Tihe display panel is still in black, only the sides and back cover are painted in gold, don’t expect 24K gold to be on the device as the phone is still sold at its recommended retail price at RM999. The phone doesn’t feel too big and it just feels nice on our hands, while the display isn’t any great Super AMOLED display from Samsung, color saturation and viewing angles isn’t too bad for a mid-range device.
