Samsung announced the 2-in-1 Galaxy Book Flex α with QLED display

Just ahead of CES 2020, Samsung has decided to introduce the Galaxy Book Flex α — a cheaper alternative to the previous Galaxy Book Ion and Galaxy Book Flex.

Weighing at 1.19 kg, the Galaxy Book Flex α comes with a 13.3-inch QLED FHD display with thinner bezels than the Galaxy Book Flex. It is a 2-in-1 PC that sports an aluminum design but it does lose some high-end features as it’s supposed to be a cheaper alternative.

Unlike the high-end models, there’s no Qi wireless charging integrated with its trackpad and there’s no S Pen included. However, Samsung does have an Active Pen to go with the laptop, which is sold separately.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Book Flex α is powered by a 10th generation Intel Core Processor with 8/12GB DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB NVMe SSD storage. It also supports Wi-Fi 6 and has a battery that is reported to offer up to 17.5 hours of usage and supports Fast Charge.

There will only be one color option in the United States called Royal Silver and the laptop will be available in the first half of 2020 with a starting price of $829.99.
