Samsung Galaxy Book 2021 series launched: Priced from RM2,249

Samsung has announced new additions to their line-up of laptops in the form of the Galaxy Book, Galaxy Book Pro, Galaxy Book Pro 360, and the Galaxy Book Odyssey

Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and Pro 360

Samsung claims that both laptops were designed with a mobile-first approach – as such, both devices are super thin with the Galaxy Book Pro is 11.2mm thin, while the Galaxy Book Pro has a thickness of only 11.5mm.

Both models come in 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch sizes. The Galaxy Book Pro comes with an AMOLED panel, while the Galaxy Book Pro 360 goes a level higher with its Super AMOLED display.

The latter is a convertible, meaning it has touchscreen support, and you can use Samsung’s S Pen.

Under the hood is up to an 11th-Gen Intel Core i7 Processor along with Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics. To keep the laptops cool, Samsung claims that they’ve managed to fit a thin heatsink and fan system under the hood that still delivers adequate cooling without sacrificing size.

In terms of battery life, both laptops offer up to 20 hours video playback, while a 65W charger can give the laptops 8 hours of use in just 30 minutes of charging.

The Galaxy Book Pro will be priced from $999 (about RM4,093) while the Galaxy Book Pro 360 will cost at least $1,199 (about RM4,912), and will be available to purchase this May 14.

Galaxy Book and Galaxy Book Odyssey

The Samsung Galaxy Book is the most affordable variant in the line-up with a price tag of just $549 (about RM2,249).

Despite this, the 15.6-inch device is no slouch – it still packs Intel 11th-Gen Core processor with the brand’s Iris Xe graphics.

The laptop comes in Mystic Blue and Silver and boasts a similar, minimalist design language as its Galaxy Pro siblings.

The laptop boasts plenty of I/O ports too – 2x USB 3.2, 2x USB Type-C, 1x MicroSD, 1x audio combo jack, and 1x HDMI.

On the opposite end of the performance and price spectrum is the Galaxy Book Odyssey – a 15.6-inch gaming-centric laptop.

The device comes an 11th-Gen Intel Core H-series CPU and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050Ti GPU, meaning you’ll be able to play all your favorite AAA titles without problems. The laptop can be fitted with up to 32GB of RAM as well.

The Galaxy Book Odyssey is available in Mystic Black and is priced from $1,399 (about RM5,732) and will only be available this August.

The Galaxy Book series hasn’t been launched in Malaysia yet, but you can visit their website for updates.
