Looks like this isn’t the end of smartphone launches yet, as Xiaomi has sent media invites for the launch of the Redmi Note 8 series happening on October 8th.As the name suggests already, we are looking at the unveiling of both the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro has a few features to look forward to, as it is the first smartphone to employ Mediatek’s G90T Gaming SoC, a quad camera system comprising of a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro lens, the phone also features a 6.53″ IPS Full HD+ display, a 20MP front camera and a large 4500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
As for the Redmi Note 8, the specs aren’t too shabby either, as it is powered by a Snapdragon 665 SoC and features a quad camera system with a 48MP primary lens, a 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro lens. The front camera has a slightly lower resolution at 16MP which is still decent, while battery size is also slightly smaller at 4000mAh with support for 18W fast charging.
The Redmi Note 8 series are compelling mid-range devices that is sure to stir things up a bit in the fierce competition, so let’s hope Xiaomi prices them right.
