realme 7 5G launched with Dimensity 800U chip and 120Hz display

The realme 7 has gotten a set of upgrades that makes the phone even more enticing than it already is – the updated phone was launched in Europe and India recently boasting a new MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipse that supports 5G connectivity.

It replaces the more gaming-centric G95 in the regular realme 7 in place a more power-efficient 5G experience. According to MediaTek however, the Dimensity 800U doesn’t slouch on gaming either as it offers two Cortex A76 cores operating up to 2.4GHz in an octa-core setup to still provide the performance gaming demands.

The new chipset also allows the realme 7 5G to pack a 120Hz refresh rate panel that also has a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The panel is still LCD at FHD+ resolution.

There are downgrades however – you now get a 48MP quad-lens setup instead of a 64MP quad array; and when it comes to your memory configuration, you are afforded a maximum of 6GB RAM only, instead of 8GB. Elsewhere, things look unchanged as it packs a 5,000mAh battery with 30W of Dart Charge fast charging, 128GB internal storage, and overall design.

In Europe, the realme 7 5G retails for 279 Euro (about RM1,355); but when taking into account the VAT tax implemented in Europe, the Malaysian pricing should be a lot lower. There’s no word yet one when it’ll arrive on local shores, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated when it does.
