Pokemon GO cheaters won’t get good Pokemon

There are bound to be countless ways to cheat in a video game, but Niantic has been closely observing cheating players on Pokemon GO and carrying out the necessary measures to curb with cheating issues. And yes, the once widely played mobile gaming title is still pretty much alive with its loyal user base.

Pokemon GO now has a new update, and it will give cheaters the worst of their nightmares with an extra trick up Niantic’s sleeves. Instead of outright banning cheating Pokemon GO users, Niantic will only “shadowban” cheaters by limiting their gameplay in what might be the most brutal tactic yet. Cheaters will only be limited to catching “lousy” Pokemon, since Niantic has claimed that violators of Pokemon GO’s Terms of Service will have their gameplay affected.

According to The Silph Road on Reddit, users who have cheated using bot locations and scanners are being flagged by Niantic and are experiencing the said “shadowban” in the Pokemon GO game. This means that they might only end up catching Pidgey’s and Magikarp’s throughout the rest of their gameplay. Sounds like a very valuable lesson for cheaters.

What do you think of this new tactic by Niantic to curb with cheaters on their gaming title? Necessary or are they taking this too far?
