Oppo Malaysia has decided to kick off sales for the new Oppo Neo N5s next week at an affordable price tag of RM698, this is an entry level smartphone with 4G LTE capability and features an 8-megapixel camera and a metal frame on its body.
Don’t expect fancy features out of the box, but the Neo 5s has a decent Snapdragon 410 quad core system-on-chip powering the phone mated to 1GB of RAM, it has 8GB of storage expandable via MicroSD, a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×480) resolution display, a 2000mAh battery and takes two SIM cards with 4G LTE standby (MicroSIM and NanoSIM). Camera setups are also pretty standard for an entry level device – 8-megapixel AF rear and 2-megapixel front.
While Oppo’s strength and device strategy isn’t always about hardware power, the Neo 5s introduces an expensive look that most most entry level smartphones do not possess and the company’s smartphone camera technology is something noteworthy especially on an entry level device like this. The Oppo Neo 5s will be available in color options of White and Blue, head on to Oppo authorized dealers next week to check out the device.
