The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are finally launched and they look like quite the flagships.

The One Plus 8 Pro is the larger of the two devices, measuring at 6.78-inches – the QHD+ display pushes a refresh rate of 120Hz, very much like the OPPO Find X2 series and the Samsung Galaxy S20 series. The display supports HDR10+ along with a Display Mate rating of A+.

The regular OnePlus 8 is smaller at 6.55-inches and packs a more conventional FHD+ panel, but it does have a refresh rate of 90Hz, which is the same as its predecessor. This too also supports HDR10+ and has a Display Mate rating of A+.

For imaging, the OnePlus 8 Pro has two 48MP shooters, the main lens (1/1.4″ sensor) and the ultrawide shooter. On top of that, you also get an 8MP telephoto lens (30x digital) and a 5MP color filter. The vanilla OnePlus 8 packs a single 48MP shooter with a 16MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro camera. Both devices come with a 16MP selfie lens that’s housed in a punch hole cutout.

Under the hood, both phones come equipped with a Snapdragon 865 chipset with 5G support – both smartphones also come with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM alongside up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage with HPB for improved speeds and longevity.

Powering the OnePlus 8 Pro is a 4,510mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T fast charging along with Warp Charge 30 Wireless charging. The regular OnePlus 8 comes with a smaller 4,300mAh battery with the same Warp Charge 30T but no wireless charging support. OnePlus claims that you can power both these devices from 0% to 60% in just 30 minutes.

In terms of features, both phones come with Haptic Vibration 2.0 alongside dual stereo Dolby Atmos speakers. Plus, they will ship with Android 10 with OxygenOS layered on top.

The OnePlus 8 is available at USD699 (RM3,028) for the 8GB+128GB variant (Glacial Green) and USD799 (RM 3,461) for the 12GB+256GB model, and this is the only variant to come in the much-hyped Interstellar Glow glossy design where the back panel is irredicent. The OnePlus 8 Pro is priced at USD899 (RM3,894) for the 8GB+128GB (Glacial Green) model and USD999 (RM4,327) for the 12GB+256GB (Ultramarine and Onyx Black) variant.

Availability in the US starts this April 29 and April 21 in Europe; meanwhile its Malaysian pricing and availability is yet to be announced, so stay tuned as we bring you more information later on.
