Nintendo will release a Pokémon Red and Blue bundle to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokémon

On February 27th, Nintendo’s best selling franchise, Pokémon, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. To celebrate this landmark, Nintendo will be releasing a special 3DS bundle on the date itself.

Coming with Pokémon Red and Blue preinstalled, this 3DS will also feature two cover plates with artwork from the original games and a download code for an exclusive Home Menu theme. Besides that, the original Pokémon games, Red, Blue and Yellow, will be available to download in the 3DS eShop on the same day as well.

Amiibos collectors will also be able to join in on the Pokémon celebration as Nintendo will be re-releasing some of its best-selling Pokémon amiibos like Charizard, Jigglypuff, Greninja and Lucario.

Rounding up the celebration, Nintendo will be releasing 12 Pokémon feature films on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon throughout the year. These films will be digitally remastered for release. For those who have access to Pokémon TV, the service will be hosting one film a month. The first three Pokémon movies will be available in Blu-Ray and DVD bundles this year.
