Now that Google has launched the long awaited Pixel and Pixel XL phones, the next big thing for Android users and fans to look forward to is the roll out of Android Nougat to their respective OEM phones. The LG V20 is the first smartphone to officially operate Android Nougat out of the box, before Google’s Pixel series. A couple of manufacturers have been hinting at Nougat for their newer devices. Late last month, ZTE teased the Axon 7 to be receiving Google’s latest Android iteration soon, and now Motorola has listed down its smartphones that will be getting their cut of Nougat.
According to Motorola’s official blog, Android Nougat will be heading over to numerous smartphones, kicking the rollout off with the Moto Z and the Moto G (4th gen) later in the fourth quarter this year. Without further ado, here’s the full list of Motorola phones that made the cut to get Android Nougat 7.0:
- Moto G (4th Gen)
- Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
- Moto G Play (4th Gen)
- Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
- Moto X Style
- Moto X Play
- Moto X Force
- Droid Turbo 2
- Droid Maxx 2
- Moto Z
- Moto Z Droid
- Moto Z Force Droid
- Moto Z Play
- Moto Z Play Droid
- Nexus 6
It is safe to say that most major Moto handsets mid range and above that were launched since last year will be getting a copy of Nougat. Right at the bottom of the list, the only 2014 device – the Nexus 6 already has Nougat rolling out via OTA update since a day or two ago. Can you find your Moto handset in that list?
