Motorola has previously been absent from the tablet scene for quite some time. The last known tablet by the Lenovo owned manufacturer was the Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1, also known as the Xoom 2. The tablet seemed promising, but generally failed to meet expectations. Motorola is throwing another attempt at the tablet market, unveiling a US exclusive device.

This is the Moto Tab, which is built to be a powerhouse media consumption device. First off, the Dolby ATMOS dual front facing speakers reinforces the media consumption experience, coupled with the 10.1-inch display Full HD 1080p resolution.

Underneath the hood lies a mid range Snapdragon 625 processor which should be sufficient for most tasks, plus the fact that you probably won’t be pushing the Moto Tab to its limit. The chipset however, might limit gaming capabilities. The tablet comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.

The Moto Tab is an AT&T exclusive device, which means that it will come preloaded with some of its apps. It does have TV Mode for the entertainment experience, and comes with an optional Lenovo Home Assistant Pack which includes a 3W speaker and dual mics. The tablet packs a large 7,000mAh battery and a USB Type-C port claimed to support lightning fast charging.

The Moto Tab will be made available this Friday exclusively in the US through AT&T for a price tag of $300. Buyers need either an existing AT&T plan to purchase the tablet without a contract, or pay $15 for 20 months via the carrier’s installment plan.
