The Moto Z2 Force has finally been unveiled. The Lenovo owned smartphone maker has been impressing us with its mid range and entry level devices alike. The Moto Z2 Force marks a slight upgrade from its predecessor the Moto Z Force, making the former a much more refined version of the latter.
While the general design elements are still retained from the Moto Z Force, the Moto Z2 Force still keeps its good name of being sturdy and durable, including the popular shatterproof screen. Once again, the Moto Z2 Force features Motorola’s ShatterShield screen, measuring at 5.5-inches at QHD resolution.
The Snapdragon 835 processor underneath the hood doesn’t come as much of a surprise already, since most flagships of 2017 is powered by that same chipset as well. The Z2 Force features either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, depending on region. Malaysia, and any other Asian country will probably get the 6GB RAM variant.
Not forgetting to mention, the dual camera setup is probably the most significant yet unsurprising change from the Moto Z Force. The Moto Z2 Force’s dual camera configuration consists of two 12MP sensors – one RGB sensor and one monochrome sensor. This handset marks Motorola, or rather Lenovo’s first step into dual camera territory, finally succumbing to peer pressure and hopping onto the bandwagon.
Another thing to note is that the Moto Z2 Force packs a much smaller battery than its predecessor. Instead of a 3,500mAh battery, the phone has a 2,750mAh battery, which is more than 20% lesser in capacity than the one in the Moto Z Force. This however, translates to a slimmer form factor for the Moto Z2 Force.
Pricing and global availability of the Moto Z2 Force hasn’t been revealed just yet. But the Motorola flagship will be available via the 4 US major carriers beginning August 10. Global availability will likely be right after that.
