Microsoft Sway Preview is here and here’s our first look

Time really flies, it’s been only a few months that Microsoft announced Microsoft Sway, a cloud based application that lets you create a unique site for your own stories in an easy step by step method, we find it extremely cool and we could be even using it to create some event stories in the near future. Therefore, we’ve taken a first look at it with our itchy hands.

As of now, Microsoft Sway is still pretty limited in terms of functionality. Granted, you’ll still be able to do things like setting a background, enter text and adding media from OneDrive, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. You can easily add pages a.k.a sections so users will be able to enjoy your story section by section.

Microsoft does offer a few layouts for creating sections, however at this point of time it would be only the standard header and text. If you look at all of those ‘coming soon’ layouts, think about how you can really create a beautiful and elegant story about your recent photo trip or even wedding! I’m absolutely sure that wedding studios will one day resort to Microsoft Sway for creating online wedding albums – fingers crossed.

Thinking of styles and structures? There you go, Microsoft Sway has everything that you need to apply to your story, it looks very similar to PowerPoint so you won’t really need a user guide if you are used to create presentations. Look at that list of structures, despite being limited in numbers, it is still sufficient to create some great stories for your friends and viewers.

Microsoft Sway is a very interesting concept, it actually lets me create my stories very easily when I’m on a photo trip, imagine if I’ve all my photos on OneDrive, uploaded a video to YouTube, or even have my self-tagged Facebook pictures by friends to import into Microsoft Sway all at once, then create that perfect story while being able to embed on my website or share it to social media. Best of all, my Sway will stay forever on OneDrive where I’ll be able to access it all the time and update things as I go, I can even add my friends to have collaboration on that Sway I’m working on, which makes it really sweet. Microsoft Sway is still on preview and you can head on to the source link down below to find out more about it. Meanwhile, check out the Sway that I’ve embedded right above.
