If you’ve yet to upgrade to Windows 10 and would very much like to block that annoying “please upgrade to Windows 10” pop-up dialog, Microsoft has finally offered a way to disable the pop-up via Windows Registry.

Microsoft has provided a step-by-step guide to help you disable the upgrade dialog box. There are a number of ways you can do so, either through the Group Policy Object, through Computer Configuration, or through Windows Registry. The most straightforward of options is, of course, Windows Registry. If you’re going to use that method however, do remember to backup your Windows before doing so as modifying the registry incorrectly can lead to serious problems. If done correctly, you will never be pestered by your current version of Windows to upgrade to Windows 10.

The website also provides methods to enable the Get Windows 10 dialog box, just in case you’ve decided to switch to Microsoft’s latest OS after disabling the upgrade prompt.
