Maybank has updated their app to bring a new feature called Maybank QRPay. This feature is the bank’s platform for cashless transactions where users would just need to scan the QR code and the payment will go directly to the merchant.
The update will add a new tab at the bottom of the home screen and after users press on it, it will redirect you to the introduction page for the feature followed by assigning an account that you want to use this feature with. There is even the option to set a payment limit but any transaction higher than RM250 will require you to enter your biometrics or password in order to proceed. There is also a section for you to redeem promotions which are split into multiple catagories.
It’s nice to see banks are starting to adopt the cashless culture as it not only adds convience to the people, it also brings about a small level of safety as citizens would not need to carry around bundles of cash with them.
