Malaysia will host the inaugural Asean E-Sports Games

The ASEAN E-Sports scene has taken a huge step forward as Electronic Sports of Malaysia (ESM) has announced that the inaugural Asean Games for E-Sports 2016 (AGES 2016) will be held in Malaysia from the 18th to the 20th of March.

In an event at the Ministry of Youth & Sports Putrajaya earlier today, Yang Berhormat Datuk M.Saravanan, Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports Malaysia, launched the official logo for AGES 2016. During the event, the offcial organizer for AGES 2016, Platinum Eden Sdn Bhd, handed over the RM 1,000,000 prize money mock cheque to ESM, the highest ever pool prize money offered at any e-sports competition in the region so far.

The one million ringgit prize money will be splitted between 3 games : Defense of the Ancients 2 (DOTA 2), FIFA 16, and Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO).

Besides the gaming event, AGES 2016 will also organize and outdoor carnival at the vanue that will feature many exciting booths, pocket-events and activities for the young and old.
