iPhone SE: Old and new collide at a very affordable price

The 2020 iPhone SE is finally here and this time, it’s an iPhone that will not burn a hole in your pocket. Despite the all-too-familiar design, the iPhone SE will come with some of the latest specs Apple has to offer.

The iPhone SE isn’t huge like its latest flagship siblings; instead, it features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, durable glass and aluminium back design and brings back Touch ID — something we have been missing since the iPhone X. As rumours have suggested, the new iPhone will be available in three colours: black, white and (PRODUCT) RED.

Even though the design is inspired from the older iPhone 8, the phone now has better specs and features, including the newest A13 Bionic chip seen in the iPhone 11 lineup, camera features like the next-generation Smart HDR and QuickTake and also portrait mode with its single-rear camera using machine learning and something Apple calls “monocular depth estimation”.

If you’ve been following the news on this phone, then its single rear lens will come as no surprise. It will, however, offer cinematic video stabilisation on both front and rear cameras, in addition to 4K video support. You can also wirelessly charge the iPhone SE or use an 18W fast-charge adapter if you want to maximise its charging speed.

The iPhone SE will be available in three variants — 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage. Starting at the price of RM1,999, it can be purchased at Apple Authorised Resellers and select carriers, and if you choose to purchase it online, Apple will offer a no-contact home delivery that is free of charge.
