The Apple TV is seriously outdated and is begging for a hardware update, and we believe Apple has something up its sleeve on the next generation of the its entertainment box. According to findings from 9to5Mac, codings of having Siri on Apple TV has been found on the SDK of iOS 7.1, and continues to exists in the most recent iOS 7.1.1 update.

If you’re an iOS developer, you will clearly know on the string field UIDeviceFamily of com.Apple.assisstant.Assistant screenshot above that ‘1’ belongs to iPhone/iPod Touch, ‘2’ belongs to iPad and ‘3’ for the Apple TV. This suggests that Siri will be available on the next generation of Apple TV as the current model doesn’t have a built-in Microphone. In our guesses, we think Apple might even implement a new remote with a microphone to support current generation Apple TVs, or even control the Apple TV through current iOS devices that support Siri.
