The tech gadget world has been lively of late thanks to the introduction of a slew of big-name smartphones and major software updates. Let’s take a break from that for a bit and redirect our focus onto the PC arena.

Intel is touted to launch their latest 10th-Gen Cascade Lake HEDT processors next week – sources say 7th October. However, prior to its launch, the American company have decided to release to the world crucial spec information about their upcoming line-up of powerhouse CPUs.

We see that there will be at least four models released – three under the X-Series line-up and one in the Extreme Edition line-up. The cheapest of the lot here is the Core i9-10900X chip that’ll retail at $590 (RM2,473) – it boasts 10 cores, 20 threads and has a base clock speed of 3.7GHz and a maximum Turbo Boost frequency of 4.5GHz.

Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line Core i9-10980XE Extreme Edition chip will retail at an eye-watering $979 (RM4,103) – it has 18 cores, 36 threads and has a base clock speed of 3.0GHz and a max turbo boost of 4.8GHz (with Turbo Boost 3.0).

According to Intel, the chipsets will come with Intel Wi-Fi 6, Thunderbolt 3, and Intel Optane SSD 905P support. All SKUs also have support for up to 256GB DDR4 RAM and 72 platform PCIe 3.0 lanes. On top of that, there’s also Intel Deep Learning Boost for AI instructions.

These are all early snippets of what’s to come from Intel – with the launch most likely happening next week, we can see all your creators and enthusiasts salivating already.
