Instagram’s Profile update might not show the number of postings anymore

Instagram is bringing new updates to its users, and this time they are redesigning the profile section to make it easier for users to connect to each other and to offer a cleaner look.

Instagram shared some potential changes on their press site, and the image they’ve posted indicated that there will be several repositioning of buttons and icons, such as the profile picture being moved to the right (previously on the left), and the disappearance of the number of posts by the Instagram users. Instead, the user’s profile will only show the amount of followers and followings, and the profile bio will be placed on the left side next to the user’s profile picture instead of the current location which is below the profile picture.

While the photo and video postings remain the same design wise , there will be a redesign in the tabs, where instead of logos it will now be labelled as “Grid”, “Posts” and “Tagged”. It seems like Instagram also plans to add an “IGTV” tab along with the rest of the tabs. Besides that, instead of separate Following and Followers tabs, Instagram will integrate those and add a “Mutual” feature that shows mutual following/followers. Users will also be able to navigate between the three tabs which is more convenient than the current tab.

Instagram will also redesign business accounts in which there will be more buttons such as “Directions”, “Start Order” and “Call”. In addition to that, a “Shop” tab is added so users can see all the products that are sold by the business users. They are currently experimenting with the new looks for the profile sections and said that they will update the experience by looking at users’ feedback hence it’s probably time to share your ideas with Instagram and they might just make it happen.
