Instagram’s new update lets users browse posts together over video chat

To prevent the spread of inaccurate information regarding the coronavirus outbreak, Instagram has introduced a few measures to help the community.

Instagram is not only adding educational messages when users search for coronavirus-related information but also launching new stickers related to preventive measures like washing hands and social distancing. In addition, COVID-19 accounts will be removed from account recommendations and contents that aren’t factually accurate will be down-ranked.

Since everyone should be practising social distancing, Instagram added media sharing — a feature that is accessible over video chat. When you video chat your friends on Instagram, you can look at liked, saved and recommended posts together.

Last but not least, Instagram also introduced its Donation sticker in additional countries and added a new “Stay Home” sticker in which users who use the sticker will be included in a shared Instagram story.
