Huawei Watch GT has battery life up to two weeks, priced €199 onwards

Aside from the launch of the Huawei Mate 20 series, Huawei also unveiled the Huawei Watch GT today.

The smartwatch comes with a 1.39-inch OLED touch screen with high resolution and vivid colours display. In addition to the changeable watch dial, the design of the Watch GT is ultra slim whereby it is only 11.8mm. It has a new dual-chip architecture which leads to more than 80% power consumption saving. This is what led to one of the Watch GT’s highlight; the battery life that can last up to 22 hours in GPS mode and up to 2 weeks in normal usage.

The watch also has real-time heart monitoring that measures your heartbeat at every second with up to 94% accuracy, has an instant heart rate display and an elevated heart rate alert.Besides that, it has a Smart Running Coach feature that provides real-time guidance and training courses for running. Those who like to hike or climb will appreciate the outdoor sensor that consists of the altitude barometer and compass and a variety of features for climbing and trail running. The Watch GT also has 50m water resistance, can recognise 4 types of swimming styles and the GPS tracker can still function even when you’re swimming.

In terms of sleep tracking, the watch uses Huawei TruSleep 2.0, which supports 4 types of sleep status monitoring and 6 types of sleep problems recognition, which could be informative for those with sleep concerns. There is also the infrared monitoring function that activated when you’re asleep to prevent light disturbance.

Being a smartwatch, the Watch GT will receive phone calls, text messages, email, social media apps and also calendar notifications. The watch also have personalised straps for you to choose according to your preferences.

The Huawei Watch GT is available in two versions whereby the sport version is priced at €199 and the classic version is priced at €249. Huawei also launched their Band 3 Pro that comes in black, blue and white at €99 today.
