HUAWEI launched the P40 series in Malaysia today with its three new models, the P40, the P40 Pro and the P40 Pro+.
Focusing on photography, the P40 has a 50MP main camera, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens. The P40 Pro takes it up a notch with a 50MP main lens, a 40MP ultra-wide cine lens, an 8MP telephoto lens capable of 3x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom and a depth sensor; on the other hand, the P40 Pro+ tops that with its 10x optical zoom and 100x optical zoom.
All three devices support a 90Hz refresh rate, but the P40 has a slightly smaller 6.1-inch OLED display while the P40 and the P40 Pro+ have a 6.58-inch OLED display. The P40 comes with a 32MP lens paired with an IR camera, while the other two models replace the IR camera with a depth sensor.
Other similarities include a Kirin 990 5G chipset, 8GB RAM and EMUI 10.1. Each device comes with different storage configurations; the P40 has 128GB, the P40 Pro has 256GB and the P40 Pro+ has 512GB. In terms of battery, the P40 has a 3,800mAh battery and its siblings have a 4,200mAh battery that supports 40W wired charging.
The Huawei P40 and P40 Pro will be priced at RM2,799 and RM3,899 respectively in three colours — Blush Gold, Deep Sea Blue and Frost Silver — whereas the P40 Pro+ in Ceramic White will cost you RM4,999.
You’ll have to wait for a little while longer for the availability of the P40 Pro+, but you can pre-order the P40 and P40 Pro through HUAWEI’s official site and its flagship store on Lazada, or on channels like Celcom, Senheng and SenQ. HUAWEI says that the delivery is estimated to commence from April 11.
