You might need some time to get used to the upcoming Huawei P40 Pro’s penta-camera setup

Just when we thought we can get used to the new square camera design as seen on the iPhone 11 and the Google Pixel 4, smartphone manufacturers decided to come up with a more unappealing design — huge, rectangle module.

Leakster Evan Blass revealed renders of the Huawei P40 Pro that has a very “outstanding” rectangular camera module. It is slightly similar to the Galaxy S10 Lite and the Galaxy S20 camera designs, except that it looks longer. Based on the renders, the P40 Pro sports five rear cameras and has the Leica branding as usual.

Honestly, my first impression of the camera design is ughh, but that was what many people thought of the iPhone 11’s camera design and months later, we’re all over it. Perhaps what we need is just a few months to fully embrace this design.

If the renders are accurate, the P40 Pro will actually come with seven cameras in total. Apart from the penta-camera setup on its rear, it’ll sport two front cameras on a cylindrical cutout on the top left of the phone. It also appears to have minimal bezels, offering that full-screen experience that everyone desires.
