Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro’s latest update comes with EMUI 8.0 and Face Unlock

Even if the Huawei Mate 10 has been in the market for a while now, and the P20 phones being a hit with customers, the company has not forgotten about its previous Mate 9 phones as they have recently received an update for EMUI.

The update brings about version 8.0.0.356 which comes with new features and the highly-anticipated Face Unlock feature to both the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro. Other than that, users will also be seeing new gesture controls and a new gaming assistant to the phone, icons will also be optimized for some applications and all of these features will come in a 514MB patch, alongside Android’s May 2018 security patch. Lastly, is various bug fixes that will come with the update including a fix for delayed reception of WeChat messages.

So far, the update has been seen on a China version of the phone, but rest assured the update will be arriving on international versions of the phone and over the next few weeks, the update should reach the phones here in Malaysia
