Introduced in China back in September last year, the tri-foldable Huawei Mate XT has officially made its global debut in Malaysia today, this tri-foldable features a premium craftsmanship that’s true to the brand’s Ultimate Design spirit, while introducing innovative engineering that no other phone manufacturers have achieved.
The Mate XT achieves a tri-fold design by having two hinges with one folding inward while the other folds outward, the device has a 6.4-inch external display and when unfolded for the first time, it expands to a 7.9-inch screen while unfolding the second time further expands it to a 10.2-inch canvas, ultimately letting you have three form factors in one single device.
Despite that, the Huawei Mate XT measures just 12.8mm when folded and when unfolded, the device is only 3.6mm thin while weighing 298g, which basically makes it the thinnest smartphone and tablet in the market. Under the hood, the Huawei Mate XT packs a Kirin 9010 processor paired to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, it houses a 5600mAh Silicon Anode battery that supports 66W Huawei Super Charging and 50W Wireless Super Charging.
In terms of cameras, the Huawei Mate XT employs the Pura 70’s camera system, consisting of a 50MP wide camera with OIS and 10-step adjustable aperture of f/1.4-4.0, a 12MP periscope camera that does up to 5.5x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, there’s only one single camera on the external screen that does 8MP stills.
Unlike the variant sold in China, the global version of the Huawei Mate XT will ship with an optimized version of EMUI 15 made for the tri-foldable experience, while 5G connectivity is obviously out of the question, it is now available for preorder for RM14,999 in Malaysia till 14 March 2025 at Huawei Experience stores and official online stores, preorder customers will receive a 1-year screen protection worth RM3,999.
