Yet another old flagship is getting the Oreo treatment, we have seen that the HTC U Ultra has just received its Oreo update and now, a Huawei official has just said that the P9 and P9 Plus will soon receive Android Oreo updates which includes EMUI 8.0.
The update to EMUI should give the phones some improvements when it comes to resource management and memory consumption as it is has some AI elements to improve the overall user experience, but due to the fact that it is using an old Kirin 955 processor, some of the AI features might not make its way to the P9 phones as the processor does not have a dedicated core for AI processing. Nevertheless, it should still make a great contender in the smartphone market.
Based on the post above, they mentioned that the update is on its way and if all is well, they will release the update within this year to all P9 and P9 Plus users.
