HTC makes really beautiful phones for the Japanese market which sometimes bear better hardware internals than its international flagships, the company has just announced together with KDDI in Japan their all new HTC J Butterfly smartphone.

The HTC J Butterfly brings back the IPX7 water resistant feature found on the original HTC Butterfly, which was then missing on the Butterfly S last year. Some hardware internals is similar to the One M8 like the Snapdragon 801 CPU, 2GB of RAM and a Full HD 5” SLCD 3 Display. The all new J Butterfly features 32GB of internal storage with MicroSD expansion, a 13 Megapixel Duo camera instead of HTC’s Duo Ultrapixel camera and a 5 Megapixel front facing camera. Surprisingly, HTC has shrunk the phone’s battery from 3200mAh to a lower 2700mAh capacity on this flagship. In addition, the Japanese are getting a pair of JBL High Performance in-earphones in the phone’s package and the device will also support HTC’s Dot View casing as well.

As HTC has mentioned before, the Butterfly series isn’t the company’s flagship line of products however we do find some plus points over the company’s One M8 – the 13 Megapixel camera and IPX7 water resistant feature. We are very sure that HTC will be introducing an international variant of the J Butterfly to the market soon, the One M8 has helped the company gained back some fortune and let’s hope the all new Butterfly will again bring HTC to greater heights this time. The all new HTC J Butterfly will be unveiled at HTC’s 2014 Tokyo Conference happening in August 14, 2014, are we going to see Nogizaka46 back to help HTC promote again? Please do.
