Hasselblad has announced their new aerial camera that can provide decisive in image quality for aerial photographers. The Hasselblad A5D has no moving parts to avoids unintentional internal mechanical movement when its mount on drone or aircraft.

The camera will be available in 40MP, 50MP or 60MP sensor options and they claim it has “unrivalled” reliability, stability, and low weight. Images will be saved to CF memory cards or transferred directly using FireWire 800 and using the advantage of its new bodies to accept a LEMO push/pull connector cable that capable joint more than eight cameras to synchronize exposure, with capture occurring across the network of multiple bodies within a 20 microsecond duration.

Multiple synchronized cameras allow mappers to stitch images easily without overlapping and no missing areas. The 40MP and 60MP will have CCD sensors measure at 43.8×32.9mm, meanwhile the 50MP will receive a CMOS sensors measure 53.7×40.2mm. The company claims that one of the sensors has a dynamic range of 14 stops but doesn’t say which – though the 50MP sensor in use is known to offer such a range.
