The good people at Google have plans to introduce an ad-blocking settings in the mobile version of Chrome and the desktop version. The new option will remove any ads that the Coalition for Better Ads industry group deems unacceptable. Ads like this include pop-up ads, auto play videos and full screen ads that show before taking you to the website’s main page.

How Google plans to implement this feature is still under discussion as some sources have mention that, one of the options will be disabling all ads on the website even if just one of those ads falls under the unacceptable range. This is to ensure that website owners keep up their standards when it comes to adding ad content to their website. The other option is to just block the unacceptable ad. It unknown at this point which option Google will go with as they declined to comment on this matter.

Currently, website owners do not have to worry too much about this as Google wants its users to stop using third-party ad-blockers, as majority of them do not know the difference between an acceptable and unacceptable ad, which pushes website owners to pay a fee to bypass these ad-blockers. It’s good to know that Google is taking the proper steps to ensure that websites are safe and friendly to surf for all its users, and making sure website owners adhere to the proper practices when monetizing their websites.
