Not too long ago, there were numerous reports by Nexus 6P users that their devices had unexpected shutdowns although the battery was between 10 to 60 percent. Initially, only Nexus 6P users who have upgraded to Android Nougat experienced this issue, but it turns out that the issue still persists after downgrading back to Android Marshmallow. Chinese company Huawei is said to be investigating this issue with Google, after the company first claimed that the problem lies within the software side.
It turns out that the battery problem isn’t just limited to Nexus 6P devices, but Google’s latest Pixel lineup of smartphones have also caught the disease. According to a thread on Reddit, Pixel users have claimed that their phones abruptly shutdown even though they had 25 to 35 percent of battery remaining. The Pixel handsets were said to not be able to power up until they were plugged in to be charged.
The current battery issue with the Pixel smartphones, plus similar occurrences with Google’s 2015 Nexus 6P flagship tell us that problem might actually lie within Google’s stock Android software.
