Google Maps has many uses – it’s a navigation tool, it helps you work on your geography knowledge, and my personal favorite, it lets you virtually travel anywhere in the world (except North Korea for obvious reasons) via the street view functionality.

According to Engadget, the ever-useful app is adding to its repertoire of functions by letting users set public events within the app itself.

The feature hasn’t quite rolled out to every device yet, but for those who have it can set public events via the Contribute tab. Simple pick a location – may it be a park or a pub – and key in details like time, dates and event type.

However, Engadget reports that the feature may still be incomplete are is  facing several bugs; while certain regions for setting your events are unavailable for the time being.

But Google could very well be working on the feature now and users can expect a wide rollout soon.
