Google recently made Google Meet free for everyone, but it’s still rolling out in certain countries. However, Google’s support page has revealed that those with Gmail work or school accounts can now access Google Meet.
For those who can gain access to Google Meet, the feature will now be available on the left sidebar after all your other tabs like ‘Inbox, ‘Starred’, ‘Drafts’ and so on. From that panel, you’ll be able to either start or join a Meet meeting.
There are a few ways to join a Meet conference call — you can either get the link from the organizer or dial a phone number followed by a specific pin which will also be provided by your organizer. Just like the premium Google Meet, users will be able to turn on real-time captions and also choose to present by sharing their screen with others.
With Google Meet, Gmail users will no longer have to depend on third party accounts like Zoom, Skype or WeBex.
