Samsung plans to start off 2017 with a bang after this year’s Galaxy Note 7 crisis ended in a a literal boom. Many speculate that the South Korean manufacturer will be going the extra mile just to make up for what might have been the best phone of 2016. In an attempt to recover from its losses, Samsung has been claimed to pack a total of 8GB of RAM in the upcoming Galaxy S8.
The above claim originated from a tipster on Chinese micro blogging site Weibo, “upping the ante” for Samsung after previous rumors suggest that the Galaxy S8 will have 6GB of RAM. If that happens to be the case, the Galaxy S8 might turn out to be the world’s first smartphone with 8GB of RAM, though we’re pretty sure that 8GB of RAM will still be an overkill for at least the next two years.
On top of that, the Weibo user has also claimed that the Galaxy S8 will feature UFS 2.1 storage, an upgrade from the current UFS 2.0 standard. This claim on the other hand is rather reasonable, since the storage standard was published back in March earlier this year. But then again, imagine the Samsung Galaxy S8 with 8GB of RAM, UFS 2.1 storage and probably a Snapdragon 835 processor. Will the next Samsung flagship be totally lag free?
