First Tesla Centre in Malaysia opens for business in Cyberjaya

Tesla, the renowned electric vehicle and clean energy company, has inaugurated its first-ever centre in Malaysia. Situated in the heart of the nation’s leading ICT hub, Cyberjaya, this two-storey establishment promises to deliver a comprehensive Tesla ownership experience for local patrons.

This sprawling centre is being developed in two ambitious phases. While the first phase opens up with a retail section spotlighting Tesla’s newest models, the second phase has future plans to incorporate facilities dedicated to service, delivery, and an encompassing after-sales support.

A key location for ICT, Cyberjaya not only caters to the local but also to international commuters. Nestled strategically, the Tesla Centre enjoys direct connections to vital commercial and residential zones via an expansive network of expressways. In addition, its proximity to both the federal administrative core of Putrajaya and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport makes it an easily accessible point for customers spread across the region. Of particular note, the centre will feature the highly sought-after electric SUV, the Model Y, in all its trims.

Commenting on this monumental occasion, YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Aziz, the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry remarked, “The initiation of Tesla in Malaysia is a significant leap towards realising the visions of Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan 2030. This not only aids our swift shift to advanced manufacturing but also our green goals of zero carbon emissions.”

Today, as we witness the opening of the Tesla Centre, it reflects our dedication to facilitating ease of business in the nation. We eagerly await Tesla’s future endeavours.”

In a significant move to endorse low-carbon mobility and bolster the EV industry, Malaysia is offering Tesla owners a slew of benefits. This includes full exemptions from import and excise duties for new Tesla electric vehicles. Furthermore, patrons can avail of a complete road tax exemption and get tax relief for expenses linked with EV charging facilities.
