Digi discontinues Postpaid 80 Infinte plan

Now that was fast, shortly after a few days announcing its unlimited postpaid plan, it seems that Digi has pulled the plug off the Digi Postpaid 80 Infinite plan, its most affordable unlimited plan that costs RM80/monthly with a decent amount of tethering data and speeds capped at 5 Mbps, Digi has initially made these unlimited postpaid plans available at an online exclusive deal and is valid until 24th June 2017, which is surprising as we are still quite far from approaching the promotion end date.

At this time of writing, the Digi Postpaid Infinite product page shows the word ‘Sold Out’ on the cheaper plan, however the flagship unlimited Digi Postpaid 150 Infinite is still available for new sign ups and port in. A quick check on the plan’s terms and conditions shows that there’s only one fine print on the cheaper RM80 plan, which the first 10,000 subscribers will only be eligible for the Free Digi Hotspot Pass for the first 12 months and 5GB of data, hence this clearly doesn’t explain why the company has decided to remove the RM80 unlimited plan.

Assuming if this is due to a network performance issue, Digi should have stopped offering both plans and not only axeing one of them, has the telco been too eager in beating webe’s unlimited postpaid plan or showing its competitors what it could do? We hope this is an error and the plan will be open for registration again.
