The GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition may have made the headlines since launch, but it is also time that OEMs have started to unveil their own flavors of NVIDIA’s latest graphics card, we were greeted with the GameRock and JetStream flavors of the GTX 1080 in Palit’s office today, these two graphics card sports its own unique shroud designs with dual 10cm fans. Palit says that the GameRock version of the GTX 1080 is made for extreme gamers who also wants the best performance and stylish looking GPU, it has a ‘GameRock’ design backplate that protects the PCB and looks really cool, there’s also RGB lighting on the top that allows gamers to configure up to 16.8 million colours and it can be used to reflect the temperature range of the GPU.
Apart from having a more striking shroud design, the GameRock GTX 1080 has an improved GameRock cooler with 22% more fin and large size copper base, a 8-Phase plus 2 PWM that load balances power and improves overclocking, and dual BIOS feature that protects the GPU from system failure. The JetStream GTX 1080 on the other hand has a different cooler from the former, it has also been upgraded with 15% more fins and a larger copper base, the Turbo FanBlade design on the fan also complements on improving cooling performance by generating a powerful airstream and airpressure, there’s also a 8-phase PWM that helps stabilizes voltage levels and improves overclocking abilities.
That’s not all, Palit has also shown us the G-Panel, an external GPU monitoring device that will work with all GeForce graphics card, it allows system builders to monitor the GPU’s clock speed, fan speed, temperature and voltage conveniently while having additional front facing USB 3.0 Type-A and C ports. The Palit GeForce GTX 1080 GameRock and JetStream will be available by end of June in local IT retailers, while a factory overclocked GTX 1080 Super JetStream GPU has yet to be announced.
