The Zenfone 8 series that was just announced today consisted of two phones — the Zenfone 8 and the Zenfone 8 Flip. Both are flagships from ASUS, powered by the premium Snapdragon 888 chip.
Zenfone 8
This compact phone comes with a 5.9-inch AMOLED display, pushing FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s HDR10+ certified, supports DCI-P3 colour gamut and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Apart from having a flagship processor, the Zenfone 8 comes with either 8GB of RAM + 128GB of storage or 16GB of RAM + 256GB of storage. It comes with a 4,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging — the phone only requires 80 minutes for a full charge.
On the photography end, the Zenfone 8 is powered by a 64MP lens and another 12MP ultrawide lens. On the front, you get a 12MP lens that has dual-pixel autofocus.
Zenfone 8 Flip
Moving on to the more interesting phone — the Zenfone 8 Flip. As suggested by the name, the Zenfone 8 Flip has a motorised flip-up module that allows users to use the rear lenses on the front too. With a 64MP lens accompanied by a an ultrawide lens and a telephoto lens, the triple-camera system can take sharp photos and selfies.
It’s also slightly bigger with a 6.67-inch-inch AMOLED screen and uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for protection. Similar to its younger sibling, the Zenfone 8 Flip also has dual stereo speakers with Dirac HD sound.
There’s only one storage configuration for the Zenfone 8 Flip — 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It comes with a 5,000mAh battery and also supports Quick Charge 4.0 and PD charging.
