ASUS has a good track record of updating their smartphones to the latest Android version. If you are still rocking a ZenFone 3 Laser (ZC551KL), ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS550KL) or ZenFone 3 Zoom, get ready to hit that “Check for Update” button as your phone is about to receive an upgrade to Android Oreo, though ZenUI 5 won’t come together with the update, you should notice performance improvements after the update all, this should also be the final OS upgrade exercise to the ZenFone 3 series as they have been around for two years.
As for the standard ZenFone 3 (ZE552KL) and ZenFone 3 Ultra, ASUS hasn’t announce plans for Android Oreo but we believe it should be in the works, since these devices are still more than capable to run the OS. The update exercise will begin this week onwards starting with the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, while the ZenFone 3 Laser and ZenFone 3 Zoom will only be updated by the end of March. The Android Oreo update will delivered via OTA, hence there isn’t any complicated flashing procedures required, but you might want to back up your files to avoid any unfortunate incidents.
