We’ve seen many Android and Windows Phone devices already this year, most of them have become cheaper and more capable in many ways. And now, it’s time to take a look at the product category that once redefined the term ‘smartphone’, the iPhone 6 is a product that many people like you and me have been waiting for, Apple have set a standard so high in both hardware and software design that it is difficult to overlook what the company has to offer every year. We’ve gotten ourselves a brand new (No Bends!), Space Grey 128GB iPhone 6 in our labs and it’s time to get our dirty hands on it.

Bigger Screen, All New Hardware Design – a whole new milestone

Apple isn’t a fan of huge displays on the iPhone a few years back, the company has focused a lot on one hand usability that almost every user realized that important feature. Fast forward today, smartphone makers like Samsung have gained success with its popular huge size GALAXY smartphones, so successful that it made iPhone owners wanting a bigger screen to do more, some have even jumped the bandwagon and swore that they will never go back to an iPhone. But, the iPhone 6 is going to change what you perceive, at least in our own humble opinion.

The iPhone 6 features a whole new design language, it is now flatter and slimmer, looking less metal in every way but still made of aluminum, don’t get us wrong though, the phone still feels extremely premium with the smooth and polished surface on its back cover, the corners are more rounded this time and speaker grilles looking more minimalist, it feels great to hold a bigger iPhone on hand and we certainly won’t miss the compact form factor that the iPhone used to have.

Having a 4.7-inch display on the iPhone 6 makes perfect sense for people who have smaller hands, that screen size has worked on the HTC One M7, which have got some many people loving it and it is still manageable with one hand if you have a longer thumb, thanks to the extremely reduced screen bezels, using the iPhone 6’s display isn’t one handed isn’t a chore at all and Apple has been really smart to include a Standard and Zoom mode in the display settings to allow users navigate around the Springboard with ease.

The Retina HD display on the iPhone 6 is simply stunning, producing natural colors, great viewing angles and outdoor visibility, you will simply fall in love with it at first sight, however we aren’t satisfied that Apple hasn’t stick to a standard display resolution, despite having achieved 326 PPI with the non standard 1334 x 750 resolution, playing our HD content will tend to show letterboxes, which isn’t cool.

iOS 8 has always been a simple and straightforward mobile operating system, it looks great on the iPhone 6 and works flawlessly, our unit currently runs on iOS 8.0.2 and we hadn’t face any issues until today, as usual you get to navigate around with rows of icons, have some great software features. In fact, it looks extremely good on a huge display that you won’t find it boring and outdated.

Overall, the iPhone 6 have given us an extremely great first impression of it, we were prepared to be disappointed when we received our unit, but no, the iPhone 6 has gotten us excited and wanting to find out more on how it affects our daily lives after using so many Android devices in the past few months, and we can’t wait to compare with a few devices that we have here and conclude it with a full review.

The iPhone 6 features an improved 8 Megapixel f/2.2 camera that takes beautiful pictures in both daylight and low light conditions, so do check out the images down below and tell us what you think in the comments.

The front facing camera ain’t too bad as well despite being a 1.2 Megapixel shooter, sometimes you don’t really need a high resolution camera to take good selfies, though we wished Apple could have included a decent 5 Megapixel shooter.
