But then again, what is new? Android smartphone makers especially Chinese ones are often known for creating carbon copies of flagship phones from the likes of Samsung and Apple. While the number of iPhone X clones are on the rise, we feel that this particular one by far resembles Apple’s revolutionary handset the most.
You may or may not have heard of Leagoo before. This company has officially released a slew of smartphones to the Malaysian market, and the Leagoo S9 might be next. Seen in the image above, you probably won’t be able to differentiate the Leagoo S9 from the iPhone X at first glance. The former sports a similar looking design as the latter, with the exception of a slightly larger chin below the display. Leagoo has took the liberty to copy the iPhone X’s notch and also included a rear fingerprint sensor.
Its specs and software is where you will find a world of difference. The Leagoo S9 will be powered by a MediaTek P40 processor, aimed to battle Qualcomm’s mid range chipsets, alongside 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The dual rear camera setup consists of two 16MP sensors.
This phone hasn’t gone official just yet, but Leagoo did mention that the S9 will cost a fraction of the iPhone X’s price at under $300 (RM 1,225.15). That’s lesser than a third of the iPhone X’s $1,000 price point.
