Apple may be working on an inexpensive AirPods Max

Apple is rumoured to be working on a less expensive model of the AirPods Max that was launched last year.

Cheaper AirPods Max likely to use plastic body frame

The AirPods Max that was launched awhile back is priced at RM2,399 and is made with premium materials in addition to ANC support and Transparency. Reports suggest that these upcoming headphones will be more affordable and can probably cost less than RM2,000. To reduce cost, Apple will be using plastic materials instead of the premium ones on the AirPods Max.

“AirPods Max is too heavy,” complained users

The current AirPods Max uses a breathable knit canopy mesh and a stainless steel headband frame. Many have stated that these headphones are heavier than the average headphones and can be uncomfortable when worn for longer periods. The AirPods Max also come with the Digital Crown that we’ve seen on the Apple Watch to control music playback and volume.

We don’t expect the cheaper variant of the AirPods Max to launch anytime soon — if it’s really in the works, it will probably launch earliest in September 2020 along with the new iPhones.
