A Nintendo Switch ‘Lite’ could be arriving mid-2019

The Nintendo Switch was released in 2017, so that means we’re almost at the half-way point of the console’s life span (console lifespans are usually around six years); and to stay relevant, Nintendo is reportedly developing a lite version of the hybrid console.

According to a report by Japanese publication Nikkei, Nintendo has rallied both its manufacturing partners and game developers towards developing a smaller, lighter Switch.

The console may come with limited functionality but the goal in mind is to make a Switch device that’s even more portable than the original. The report also suggests that the console could debut in mid-2019.
