The LG Watch Sport and the LG Watch Style have long been rumored to be launched. Google has finally unleashed both smartwatches after partnering up with South Korean manufacturer LG. The LG Watch Sport and the LG Watch Style have launched alongside Google’s announcement of the long awaited Android Wear 2.0, after its dreaded delay. Both wearables are the first to officially run on the new Android Wear software.

First off, the names of the LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style both speak for themselves. The Watch Sport is catered towards fitness buffs whereas the Watch Style sports a more conventional watch look. Beginning with the Watch Sport, its display and size is the bigger of the two, with a 1.38-inch P-OLED display. Inside its beefy form factor lies a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, alongside 768MB of RAM and 4GB of eMMC storage. THe Watch Sport also features a larger battery than the Watch Style at 430mAh. Other details include an integrated heart rate sensor and an water and dust resistance rating of IP68. An added bonus is the watch packs a 3G/4G LTE data modem for internet connection on the go without the help of a smartphone.

The LG Watch Style feature the same processor and onboard storage like the Sport, but that’s all that is to the similarities between both watches. The Watch Style sports a smaller 1.2-inch display, lesser RAM at 512MB and a smaller 240mAh battery. This model unfortunately does not have a heart rate sensor and features a lesser IP67 rating, but it is probably no need for these given the fact that this watch won’t be facing the rough waves.

Both the LG Watch Sport and the LG Watch Style are slated to be showcased at this MWC 2017 later this month at Barcelona. Any thoughts on these new wearables so far?
