They say old habits die hard, and one of the bad habits of Chinese manufacturer OnePlus is its constantly delayed software updates. OnePlus has rolled out the 10th beta software update based on Android Nougat 7.0 for its earlier 2016 flagship the OnePlus 3, but this update appears to be a rather minor one, a possibility that OnePlus will be delivering the official Nougat software for the handset real soon.

OxygenOS Open Beta 10 was just released by OnePlus for the OnePlus 3, weighing less than 200MB in size, making it just a minor update upon the Nougat flavored OxygenOS on the OnePlus 3. The update includes:

  • Added Data Saver
  • Fixed Lock Screen clock bug in Portrait Mode
  • Fixed issue of reverting to Default Theme after reboot
  • Optimized fingerprint unlocking speed
  • Optimized the quality of Expanded Screenshot
  • Optimized WiFi performance
  • Optimized system performance and battery consumption

As seen on the list above, most of them are of improvements, optimizations and bug fixes. Perhaps, OnePlus is ready to officially ship out Android Nougat to its handsets? The company has launched two flagships this year instead of the usual sole flagship device – the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. OnePlus has promised to rollout the final release of its version of Android Nougat software to both flagships by the end of this year, but it seems like the company will once again delay the rollout. What do you think?
