HONOR has officially confirmed that the HONOR X9e Pro is coming to Malaysia, following the phone’s surprise appearance during the National Day parade in Putrajaya.
This is a particularly significant addition to HONOR’s mid-range lineup because it will be the first Pro model in the company’s popular X Series. HONOR says the “e” in X9e represents “EXTREME”, with the phone focusing on three areas: battery capacity, drop resistance and water resistance.
The X Series Is Getting Its First Pro Model
HONOR’s X Series has increasingly built its identity around durability and battery life rather than simply competing on processor and camera specifications. The X9e Pro appears to push that formula further.
HONOR hasn’t revealed the complete specification sheet yet, but it is teasing what it describes as an extremely large battery capacity and a major improvement in endurance. The exact capacity remains under wraps, so we’ll have to wait for the Malaysian launch before knowing just how far HONOR is taking things.
That’s particularly interesting in 2026, as silicon-carbon battery technology has allowed smartphone makers to dramatically increase battery capacities without turning their phones into oversized bricks.
Durability Remains a Major Selling Point
The second major upgrade is what HONOR calls Extreme Armor-Tough Drop Resistance.
Durability has become one of the defining features of recent HONOR X Series phones, and the X9e Pro is expected to improve protection against accidental drops and everyday impacts even further.
HONOR is also promising upgraded water resistance designed for more demanding conditions. Again, the company hasn’t disclosed the phone’s official IP rating or the specific limits of that protection, so those details remain something to watch for when the device is fully unveiled.
A New Purple Finish for Malaysia
While most of the hardware remains secret, we already know what one version of the X9e Pro looks like.
The phone made its first public appearance during Malaysia’s National Day parade alongside HONOR’s Robotics D1 humanoid robot, revealing a dark purple finish complemented by light gold accents around the frame and rear camera module.
It’s a considerably more distinctive look than the conservative colours normally associated with durability-focused smartphones, and it helps differentiate the new Pro model from previous X Series devices.
When Is the HONOR X9e Pro Launching in Malaysia?
HONOR hasn’t announced an official Malaysian launch date or pricing yet, but today’s confirmation means a full reveal shouldn’t be too far away.
The bigger question will be how much of a premium HONOR intends to charge for the first Pro-branded X Series phone. With battery endurance and durability becoming increasingly important differentiators in the mid-range market, the X9e Pro could be an interesting option if HONOR can retain the value proposition that made the X Series popular in Malaysia.
