Notched displays are making comeback it seems, but not on smartphones as one might expect – instead, Apple put one on their latest MacBook Pro, and now Samsung is looking to do the same with their upcoming Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.
Renders of the device show a dual-camera selfie module that lays on a y-axis placement; this means that you’re supposed to use lenses only in landscape mode.
Elsewhere however, the tablet looks similar to the existing Galaxy Tab S7 – it’s got a squarish, aluminium body; a magnetic strip to charge your S Pen stylus, and an oblong-shaped camera module on the back.
The Galaxy S8 Ultra will be the biggest entry in the series and it will pack a 14.6-inch OLED display. There’s also support for 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling experience.
Under the hood, the device is expected to run on the upcoming Snapdragon 898 chipset. Since the processor is meant to only arrive by next year, we can expect the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra to also be launched then.
