Apple’s upcoming operating system, macOS Sierra, will bring with it Safari 10. With the introduction of Safari 10, Apple is about to hit the final nail into Adobe Flash as the browser will disable all proprietary plugins by default when browsing the web.

Starting from Safari 10, whenever you access a website that features content only available in Flash, Safari will override clicks on the links to download Flash to show a special modal sheet. This sheet will allow users to enable Flash on a per-use basis or enable the plugin site-wide. After confirming, Safari will then load the Flash content as normal.

Apple isn’t alone in its mission to phase out Flash of course. Just last month, Google revealed that they will also be phasing out Adobe Flash in favour of HTML5. With Apple and Google having decided to leave Flash behind, it would seem that Flash is finally on its last legs.
