Qualcomm recently updated its specs sheet for several processors that revealed that they can actually support up to 192MP cameras. However, the processors will only be able to support a single 192MP camera and will have to go without features like Multi-Frame Noise Reduction and also Zero Shutter Lag.

According to the Senior Director of Product Management at Qualcomm, Judd Heape, there will be 64MP and 100MP cameras releasing this year, as some OEMS have already started working on the project. While this isn’t what the chipset company is aiming for, Heape said that the smartphone industry walking down that path.

Few examples that can be seen regarding companies going for phones with higher megapixels include the vivo V15 Pro, Redmi Note 7 Pro and also Xiaomi Mi 9. These 48MP cameras currently combines 4 pixels into one to create a 12MP shot, so we’re assuming the same is likely to occur for 64MP cameras which will result in 16MP shots.

That aside, Heape also mentioned that Qualcomm will be implementing its own HDR10+ and will come with the newer chipset, the Snapdragon 865. However, MySmartPrice did mention that the name has yet to be finalised.
