Apple says the bent iPad Pros are not defects

The “bendgate” issue that the new iPad Pros have been facing is now confirmed by Apple, but the company states that it is not a defect.

When the iPad Pro was launched at the end of October, soon consumers who bought the device realised that it’s either easily bent, or came to them already bent. This frustrated many of the users, especially those who did not get the Apple Care and can’t exchange the already bent iPad Pro for a new one. There was also one user who actually exchanged his bent iPad Pro for a new one, only to have his second iPad Pro bent within days of usage.

The new iPad Pros are so easily bent that many users are reporting that the devices get bent just by being placed in their backpacks as they travel around. Now Apple has responded to the matter, and they called it a “side effect” to the device’s manufacturing process.

Apparently, the iPad Pro is easily bent due to the cooling process of the metal and plastic components of the device. The device is also very slim and light, which could be an additional factor as to why it’s so easily bendable. That being said, Apple said that the bent iPad Pros are not defects and will still function perfectly well as intended. The company also stated that the bending will not worsen over time.

Still, a bent is a bent and we highly doubt that anyone would want to pay such a high price for a device that comes slightly bent and gets bent just over a few days of usage. It is indeed a shame that the iPad Pro that has been promoted to be so powerful lacks the physical structure durability that it needs.
